Photoshoots

I said when I first started this site that not only would I post makeup, hair and fashion tips, reviews, etc. I would also post events, shows, and shoots I attend or participate in. Yesterday I tested with a model I met thru a mutual friend and had the idea to take caution tape and make a bandage dress then based the makeup around the colors of the tape. Here r some pics

Christie ooh

Recently I was contacted by ChristieOoh.com to do a feature interview on me as an upcoming Makeup artist/wardrobe stylist. Christieohh.com is an eclectic lifestyle blogsite and online mag that focuses exclusively on the progressive aspects of entertainment. It’s eclectic in the site’s refusal to constrain itself to one specific genre or subculture. According to ChristieOhh, “The site is engaging and inclusive to those of all cultures involved in the upwardly mobile movement.” The site serves as a place to stay current, entertained, inspired and informed without being inundated with negative, useless gossip. The main objective is to inspire and inform the masses on the most relevant trends and topics, as well as highlight the upwardly mobile, in music, business, technology, fashion and politics. In short, “Giving you the drop on da Certified Official.” so of course I was honored to interview with her which took place today. So check out her site and be on the look out for my interview on there. S/O to christie and ChristieOoh.com

New from YSL (Yves Saint Laurent) school

So the day I was waiting for finally arrived. I had YSL training today and I'm exhausted. I had a wonderful with my fellow YSL members and learned a lot about what's new. So let me run thru the new stuff. The main thing talked about was the new and YSL exclusive skin care technology. The serum, face creme, eye creme, and cleansing form. The results they showed us from the clinical trials were amazing. I definitely recommend and I will review them all at a later date. Now for my faves. Since I'm a makeup artist I'm always look for new color products in eyes and lips. Not only do we have the spring color limited edition shades I showed in an earlier post but we also have new lipstick, gel blush, glossy stains, and glosses. I do have some pictures and will make sure I review all products. My favorite had to be the new glossy stains with combine the creamy texture of a lipstick with the shine of a gloss and the staying power of a stain. Best thing ever for the lip, I think this a 100% must have no doubt. I have taken pictures of some of this products which I will show below and again I will go into detailed reviews at a later date. Pics are of the face cream, eye cream, and glossy stain. The best one is the red which of course they didn't give us. I will be get n that in gratis(free stuff for employees for those who don't know) lol. So that it for this post, I'm excited about the direction of the brand and I think with these addition I'll can have young women with as much YSL as they have MAC. YSL is a great luxury brand.

Pastel color trend for spring!!!!

Are you a fashion forward person, always staying a season ahead? Well I hope you love the Easter bunny for much more then the Easter Sunday outfits your parents always made you wear and take pictures in. From the runway to makeup we are seeing pastel trends that the bunny himself didn't envision. The following pictures are of some of the top designers spring 2012 line and I found a picture online of some OCC pretty boy lip tar swatches that scream pastel wardrobe compliment. How do you feel about goin pastel for spring???

Use or lose- Maybelline cream shadow

In the use or lose post i will review a product and vote on if it should be in your kit or not. Use it or lose it.... First let me say that the most expensive makeup is not always the best, i will use high end makeup like eve pearl and cvs drugstore makeup. Its about how you apply and use most items. So I was in Walmart about a week ago from today. I found these cream shadows by maybelline for just $5 a piece. They are called "color studio by eyestudio". Being the makeup artist that has to try and buy everything I decided to get one and test it out. I used it in a photoshoot during some test shots just to see how it would work. I wasnt blown away by it but I was impressed by how true the color was from the pot. It goes on the eye easy with a metallic finish to it. Although I haven't tested it's 24hr claim I had no problems with it when I used it at the shoot. I do recommend this product and it is in my opinion jus like a Mac paint pot but they are drier if that makes any difference to you.

YSL seasonal makeup update

For all that don't know that not only do I freelance with makeup I also work for YSL or Yves Saint Laurent makeup. This upcoming Tuesday I have seasonal school where we will be brought up to sapped on new YSL products and why direction the company is headed in. Jus a sneak peak we do have some new nail colors and blushes coming out that are more youthful and bright. You have to stay a season ahead in beauty so they will be perfect for the upcoming spring. I will post some pictures and reviews after tuesday of the products. -Stay beautiful world
